Our story
Founded in 2005, the parents' council's mission is to:
Represent parents whose child(ren) attend Vision School to the school management;
- Create a communication link between all parents whose child(ren) attend Vision school;
- Organize activities for the benefit of the school's students;
- Raise funds during the various activities organized by the Council;
- Financially support various projects in the school life of the school's students;
- Provide collaboration to current and future activities and projects of the school.
Summary of members' tasks
PARTICIPATING MEMBERS: 15 representatives (15 classes)
- Participating members are elected at the general meeting of parents which takes place at the start of the school year;
- Participating members must attend the monthly meetings of the Council and participate in its proper functioning;
- Participating members must assist the officers of the Council (President, Vice-President, Treasurer, Secretary) in their functions and may, on occasion, be called upon to replace one or other of the officers for a particular task;
- Participating members must be involved in at least one subcommittee and some must take charge of it;
- Participating members must be present for the end-of-year show;
- The annual involvement of a participating member is approximately 30 to 50 hours per year, or 2.5 hours each month for meetings during the school year as well as participation in various activities.
VOLUNTEER MEMBERS:
- There is no election for this type of member;
- Volunteer members can be contacted as needed;
- Volunteer members may participate in a subcommittee; they will then have to assist the head of this subcommittee in his functions;
- Volunteer members may be required to attend one of the Council meetings if requested to do so by the subcommittee in which they are involved;
- The annual involvement of a volunteer member is approximately 5 to 20 hours per year.
